24h Nürburgring

Like last year, Christopher teamed up with Team CarCollection Motorsport for yet another 24 hour race at the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife Circuit.

With 2 new team mates, Christopher, Peter Schmidt (D), Klaus Koch (D) & Johannes Siegler (D), the #47 Porsche Carrera Cup GT3 was ready to take on the race.

The weather forcast for the entire weekend stated heavy rain showers and thunderstorms.

On early friday morning, the support race events, such as the ATS Formula 3 series & Renault Clio Cup free practise's had to be cancelled due to heavy fog and rain.

Friday evening Chris and his team has their first Qualifieng session of the weekend.

The #47 911 GT3 Cup placed 31st overall & 4th in class.

On Saturday's quali session, Christopher's #47 Cup Porsche suffered power steering problems and 12 minutes before session end, Chris left the pits for one last hot lap, however he was not able to clock a fast time due to a bad crash which resulted in red flaged quali session.

Christopher after saturday's qualifying:

"It's a shame we had technical problems and unlucky that the Qualifying got red flaged, because I am sure we would have been able to secure a spot for the TOP 40 Qualifying."

The stragey for the race was that Chris would race the first stint, Peter the second, Klaus the third and Johannes the fourth stint.

After Johannes 4th stint, the 24 hour race got red flaged due to heavy rain and fog during the night which resulted in a ~ 8 hour pause of the race.

For the restart of the race, Chris was once again behind the wheel. The car drove very well and there were no technical problems in sight.

The last stint of the 24h race, Chris jumped back into the #47 Porsche GT3 Cup in order to finish the race with a double stint.

Catching up from 26th place overall, Christopher managed to finished the 24h race in 22nd overall & 5th in class.

Chris after the race:

"I'm very happy with the result and the team. The car felt great and we had no issues. I would have liked to see how well we would have performed, if we had been able to qualify within the top 40.

Thanks again to Peter Schmidt and the entire Car Collection team ! "
